We welcome you as a patient and appreciate the opportunity to provide your family pediatric and adolescent medical services.

The information found on this website is designed to answer many of the questions most patient families have. The more you know about our policies and practices, the more we can be of service.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Everyone in the office operates as a team member. All have been trained as professionals and we take pride in our commitment to provide expert and personal health services.

Pediatric and Adolescent Care of Silver Spring is a Pediatric Patient-Centered Medical Home.

The Medical Home is an innovative, team-based approach to providing healthcare. Our goal is to develop a partnership between the patient, parents, the primary MD/NP and the health care team.  We want to help educate the child and the responsible adult to develop healthy habits and plans for self-management of their health and healthcare!

Working together with you and following evidence-based guidelines for medical care, our team will coordinate to provide the best health care services possible.

We all work together as a team to take excellent care of your “whole child”. This includes coordinating care of your child across multiple settings, including mental health.  We do expect you to pick a primary care clinician, but you are always free to see any of our doctors or NP.  We will enter your primary care clinician choice in our computer system to make arranging appointments easier.

It is our goal to provide you and your child with strategies and tools to make it easy for you to self-manage chronic illnesses (eg, Asthma, ADHD, obesity) based on the best evidence-based medicine.

As a Pediatric Medical Home we know how important it is for us to be available to assist you and your child. We understand that when you are worried about your child you want help ASAP!  We are available for appointments.  See Visits for the types of visits and their ready availability.  Note that we have walk-in sick appointments on Monday and Friday mornings from 8-9 am.

We are always available for concerns, including after-hours advice for urgent concerns.  See Contact Us for details of how to reach us.

We also offer a direct link to healthychildren.org at the bottom right of this page, which is an AAP educational resource.

Our practice serves patients from birth until age 21.

We have our nurses available to help you with medical questions 8am-5pm Mon-Friday.

After hours

It is our goal for you to visit us in your medical home for comprehensive, coordinated primary care instead of the more expensive Emergency Room or Urgent Care. We want to provide pediatric-oriented care, using our familiarity with your child’s medical history and our ability to provide consistent care and follow-up after your visit.  We want to have you contact us to help before you head to the Emergency Room or Urgent Care (except of course in emergent life-threatening situations.)

How can you help us?

We are most effective as a medical home when we have complete information about care you have obtained elsewhere. Be sure to inform us about care your child has obtained elsewhere

Please let us know at every visit about the patient:

Medications the patient is taking, including over-the counter and vitamins/supplements?  Specialists or other doctors seen?  Changes in medical history or health status?  Recent medical test results?  Self-care information to discuss (e.g. asthma care plans, food allergy plans)?  Hospitalizations, emergency department or urgent care visits?  Vaccines received anywhere else (including flu shots)?  Any changes in phone numbers or address?

How we can improve?

  • Let us know if we can do something better!

“THANKS!” to those that took the time to offer feedback during our PATIENT SATISFACTION SURVEY.

We are pleased to report that 99.9% of you would recommend the practice to others! We want you to know that we value your feedback and have heard your comments. We have made improvements to increase well exam appointment availability, decrease hold time on phone calls, and more awareness for afterhours care!
